When you start the car with the key that matches your car, the green key will flash solid once, and the car will start fine. A friend of mine came by to try giving the car a jump, which allowed me to get the car to start, I could even rev the engine once or twice, but then, like something told it to, the car would die, all the while flashing a green key on on the dash display (This green key is in fact the indicator for the cars immobilizer system. I went outside one cold winter morning and the car was dead. I have a 2006 Honda Civic EX and experienced the same issue under similar circumstances and have since solved the issue:ġ) Cold weather 2) Car was recently jump started 3) Receiving flashing green key indicator 4) Car starts then shuts off 5) Battery problems Im not really sure where to start, honda dealership, stereo shop? This was repeating daily.Īftermarket stuff: stereo deck + amp + speakers, backup sensors, second dry cell battery in the trunk, and one of those $70 devices that is suppose to keep your primary batter from dying because you left your stereo on too long - dont remember what its called. I charge the battery and car starts fine all day, then the next day the car wont start - have to jump again. Came back in spring and battery was dead, had to jump it and charge it. I do not know if this is related but here is more info: Ive had my car for 7 years and this problem just started happening in the last 3 months.

I have a unique situation to add to this problem everyone else is having. Some sites mentioned disconnecting the battery cables and reconnecting after 20 minutes to cause a reset. Which provides me with no information at all. Manufacturer : HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) One site turned up this information regarding a "service bulletin": Make : HONDA Model : CIVIC Year : 2006 I read online others having this issue as well. All the while there is a green key symbol flashing on the dashboard.
